Our ceramic engineer has been able to formulate a new glaze with our last remaining Albany slip that has the identical metallic sheen as our past Albany slip Collection. The three pieces that complete this collection include a basin, an ovoid crock, and a lidded pitcher, that are more ornate and hand detailed than any Limited Edition Collection from the past few years. After being hand thrown by our potters, the hand crafted lug handles and leaf sprigs are attached carefully in a pattern of the potter’s choice, making each piece unique to the next. Even though this year’s collection is so different from previous years, the significant Limited Edition sprig with the year and run of the collection will be attached to each piece adding value to the collectible. For those collector’s who want even more, we are offering the first 100 of the 500 sets numbered in the order they were made and signed by the potter who spent the time and brought the piece to life. Anyone who can appreciate the time and detail that goes into each hand made Limited Edition piece will not be disappointed. Albany Slip Bean Pot - Limited Edition for 2004
The Albany Slip collection continues in 2004 with the introduction of the Bean Pot. Third in a series of handcrafted pottery decorated with true Albany Slip clay and fired in the traditional salt-glaze manner. The 2004 Albany Slip Bean Pot comes with a recipe card for Grandma Rowe's Beans and a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Jim Rowe that includes the history of the bean pot and the important relationship it had with the 19th century potter.
